Background / History
Selingan Turtle Island has long been a haven for endangered green and hawksbill turtles. In August 1966, the first turtle hatchery in Malaysia was established on the island, now standing as one of the oldest turtle hatcheries in the world. Today, Selingan welcomes visitors to witness the wonder of the turtle nesting season and experience the island's pristine beauty, while ensuring its responsible and sustainable preservation.
