How to get here

Bilit Adventure Lodge sits on the banks of the Lower Kinabatangan River, about two hours from Sandakan city by road.

🚌 Buses can be taken from Kota Kinabalu, Semporna, Lahad Datu and Tawau to Sandakan.

✈️ Daily flights from Kota Kinabalu to Sandakan are available via Malaysia Airlines.

🚗 It takes around 2 hours to get from Sandakan to Bilit Adventure Lodge. Drive 20km out of the city until you reach the Ranau-Sandakan highway, then make a left turn at the Sandakan-Lahad Datu highway and drive 70km to the lodge via Jalan Sukau. The entire journey is approximately 126km.

Background / History

Bilit Adventure Lodge first opened in 2009 along the Kinabatangan River in Sabah. The eco-lodge underwent a major renovation in 2021, updating its facilities while preserving its natural rainforest setting and community-focused approach to tourism. It is located along the inner part of the Kinabatangan River, making it less crowded than other parts of the river.
